Family collections represent a significant part of the Library’s holdings. These collections often include large numbers of photographs documenting generations of family members and activities. This album is a keepsake of a Gamble family trip to East Asia in 1908. These beautiful hand-colored photographs were taken by the brothers Clarence and Sydney Gamble as they traveled with their parents. In 1924, Clarence Gamble married Sarah Merry Bradley, whose ration coupon book is also part of this exhibition—together, they took many more trips abroad.
